Mouse Hunt was on today. First of all, that has to be one of the most underrated movies of all time. It's just not fair. That movie couldn't be any cooler if Jeff Goldblum had been in it, speaking in adages. Or perhaps recreating that scene where he's in the backseat of that awesome jeep in Jurassic Park, being chased by the T-Rex, yelling "Must go faster, must go faster, must go faster." In other words, Mouse Hunt was all ready that cool, and always will be. As my brother says, part of the genius of that movie (directed by the one and only Gore Verbinski) is that you don't know whether to root for the mouse or the two brothers. The movie leads up to one of the best endings of all time. Pure brilliance.
The writer of this movie also wrote Small Soldiers, a childhood favorite of mine as well, but it doesn't hold up. Come on Hollywood, that one is just itching for a remake/reboot/recrap.
